Hi,
Just wondering if anyone has bought their ticket and if so when and where you'll be flying into. I haven't yet, but I'll post it when I do.

Waiting in Winnipeg

Hi All!
It took me some time to figure out the blog thing but here I am! I don't know how to add pictures so sorry you're out of luck. I thought I'd fill you in on a little bit about myself...I am Canadian currently living in Winnipeg, Manitoba (right in the middle of the country) and just got back in November from an organic farming internship in Southern Ontario. That was my first farm experience and my first real introduction to food politics as well as cooking and eating locally. I loved it! I studied Environment and Resource Studies at University and have been done for almost 2 years now. Since then I have been moving about trying different things to see what my calling in life may be. I know I am interested in sustainable living and will possibly start my own (or join an) eco-village someday soon. As well I love being outside, working outside and cooking/baking with the yummy things I grow outside! Pies are my specialty. Currently I am just waiting in Winnipeg for March to come around. I am SO excited about Spannocchia and all of the things we will learn. I am planning on staying in Europe in 7 months in total and will be off to Spain afterwards to volunteer at Mothers Garden an organic olive and almond farm in Catalonia. I will ALSO be walking the Camino de Santiago across the northern part of Spain as I did that 2 years ago and it was the most amazing experience of my life. Then I am off to Scotland to visit Findhorn (an alternative spiritual and environmental communtiy) to take a course on ecovillages. I am super excited about meeting you all!
By the way is anyone flying into Pisa on March 3 in the morning?
Becky

In Europe

Hi Everyone, glad to see people taking to the blog. I´ve been in Europe for the past 10 days and my stay will lead straight up to the start of Spannocchia. My time in Rome was as always too short and it was nice to be practicing Italian again. Now I´ve just arrived in Berlin and it is much colder and much more alien (in Rome i´m quite comfortable) but i know it´s good for me to be here now. But geez, i thought it was hard finding an apartment in New York! Also I thought I´d let you all know about my other blog i´m keeping for friends back home in case any of you were curious. The address is http://eurodoug.blogspot.com. Looking forward to getting back to Italy! Ci ved ragazz

hey everyone-- just want to say a quick hi and tell a little about myself. my name is kate and im 18 (looks like i am the youngest). i live in washington dc and just graduated from high school last spring, but am taking a gap year in between high school and college. as far as college goes, im enrolled to be a freshman at the university of michigan for the fall of 2006, but am hoping to go to colorado college instead. this past fall i did a NOLS semester in the rockies. it was awesome- we rockclimbed at the needles and devils tower, went backpacking in the winds in wyoming and down in utah, kayaked the green river and then telemark skied in the backcountry of the absoroka mountains. it was definitly hard coming home to a city after being out west for 3 months, but i am extremely excited for spannocchia. i think someone asked if anyone hikes or runs- i do both and cant wait to explore the area around spannocchia by foot. i also think someone asked if anyone was thinking about travelling after the internship. if possible, i am going to travel to spain and walk the camino de santiago ( because it takes a month, i am not sure i will have time to do the whole thing). anyway, it ws great hearing a little about everyone, and i cant wait for march to come.
