hey everyone-- just want to say a quick hi and tell a little about myself. my name is kate and im 18 (looks like i am the youngest). i live in washington dc and just graduated from high school last spring, but am taking a gap year in between high school and college. as far as college goes, im enrolled to be a freshman at the university of michigan for the fall of 2006, but am hoping to go to colorado college instead. this past fall i did a NOLS semester in the rockies. it was awesome- we rockclimbed at the needles and devils tower, went backpacking in the winds in wyoming and down in utah, kayaked the green river and then telemark skied in the backcountry of the absoroka mountains. it was definitly hard coming home to a city after being out west for 3 months, but i am extremely excited for spannocchia. i think someone asked if anyone hikes or runs- i do both and cant wait to explore the area around spannocchia by foot. i also think someone asked if anyone was thinking about travelling after the internship. if possible, i am going to travel to spain and walk the camino de santiago ( because it takes a month, i am not sure i will have time to do the whole thing). anyway, it ws great hearing a little about everyone, and i cant wait for march to come.
